Roscommon Small Business take a hit

ROSCOMMON –  Currently, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, our communities small businesses have taken a hit financially. Some were closed down, others were operating at minimal capacity and some were affected by diminished customers. The results caused for community partners to join forces and provide support to our small businesses.

The Roscommon County Board of Commissioners and the Roscommon County Economic Development Corporation worked together to allocate funds to be used as micro loans to small businesses with in Roscommon County. The two partners allocated $26,000 to be used in the Roscommon County Small Business COVID-19 Relief Micro Loan Program. Roscommon County Economic Development Corporation establish an application review committee to review loan applications.

Once the application went live, 11 Businesses applied. 9 out of the 11 were approved for funding. Roscommon County Economic Development Corporation partnered with The Sawmill Rural Business Center to work with County Administrator to issue funds to the awardees of the micro loan.

The following businesses were recipients of the micro loan program:

  • Advance Downtown Aquatic Physical Therapy
  • Screaming Eagle Tattoo
  • The Shirt Factory
  • Roscommon Family Dentistry
  • Vanderlake and Asscociates DBA Clearwater Dental Lab
  • Peyser INC. Roscommon Economic Development Corporation
