GRAYLING – Ring in the New Year the Grayling way as downtown comes alive for the return of the Canoe Drop tonight. This one-of-a-kind tradition brings neighbors, families and visitors together in the heart of the community to celebrate the start of 2026.
Gather in front of the county building clock on Michigan Avenue and count down to midnight as the iconic canoe drops, marking a moment that’s becoming a true Grayling tradition.
New this year, families are encouraged to come out early for the Kiddie Kayak Drop at 9 p.m. — a fun, family-friendly celebration designed especially for younger community members who want to be part of the excitement.
This free community event is a celebration of Grayling spirit and connection, offering a welcoming way to spend New Year’s Eve with friends, neighbors and loved ones, while supporting downtown.
Just a reminder: Please dress for the weather. Bundle up, grab your friends and family, and join us downtown for an unforgettable Northern Michigan New Year’s Eve celebration.
