Scott F. Glombowski of St. Helen

Scott F. Glombowski, 56, of St. Helen, died on January 2, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was a brave warrior right to the end.

He was born on December 16, 1960 to Lawrence and Ethel (Busha) Glombowski. He married Linda D. Phillips on September 21, 2013.

His childhood passion for playing baseball, often coached by his dad, continued through his adult life. He loved watching many kinds of sports, especially his beloved Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Orioles. In the past year a favorite pastime was watching the Detroit Pistons with his wife while patiently explaining the rules of the game to her. He also was an avid outdoorsman, loved the woods, and though he was ill, he was excited to have recently accompany his great nephew on his first hunting trip. Some of his other interests were military history and nature photography, with birds being a favorite subject.

Scott was a proud American patriot and was honored to have served in the United States Army and the Michigan National Guard.

He loved his family dearly. He had a special relationship with his nephew Nathan Smith who was like a son to him.

Scott is survived by his wife Linda; mother Ethel; Sister Deborah Smith; daughter Tina Warner; grandchildren Levi, Carly, Allison, Sophie and Leah; nephews Nathan (Lisa) Smith, Aaron (Becky) Glombowski, Jeffery Glombowski, and niece Laura (Ryan) Bolinger; step-children Erin Farnsworth and Sean Phillips; great-nephews Jaydon, Brynden, David, Devin, and John; great-nieces Jasmyn, Skylar, Mikayla, and Chloe; sister-in-law Sally Glombowski; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence and his brother David.

Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at Smith Family Funeral Home – North, 1525 Hancock St, Port Huron, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Max Amstutz officiating.
