Robert James Schuett of Houghton Lake

Robert James Schuett, 84, of Houghton Lake passed away October 29, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on September 18, 1932 in Saginaw to Herman and Mary (MacIntyre) Schuett. He grew up in the Saginaw area where he met Ruthann Sierocki and they married there on August 21, 1965. Mr. Schuett was a residential and commercial construction painter, working hard at his trade until retiring at age 74. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to hunt and fish. He painted artwork and did woodworking for his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Ruth Schuett of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Chris (Ron) Mortimore of Saginaw, and Mary Lou Kolakowski of Houghton Lake; two sons, James and Mark Schuett, both of Houghton Lake; two grandsons, Brian and Jeff; two granddaughters, Shannon and Kari; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mathew; and brother, Don.

At the request of Mr. Schuett no services will be conducted.

Memorial contributions in memory of Robert are asked to be directed to the family.

Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
