Connie Kay Wood of Roscommon

Connie Kay Wood, 77, of Roscommon passed away Nov. 1, 2016 at Crawford Continuing Care Center, Grayling.

Connie was born in Roscommon April 18, 1939 to Carlton R. and Katherine G. (Palmer) Mead. She married Rawland Clifford Wood Sept. 5, 1959 in Roscommon.

Connie moved to Allen Park after marrying Cliff and they moved back to Roscommon after he retired in 1999.

Connie reveled in supporting and raising her family. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

While in Allen Park she and her husband taught bowling to youth between the ages of 5 and 17 at Thunderbowl Lanes for many years. She enjoyed bowling and carried a 185 average when actively bowling. She also enjoyed the occasional casino trip and watching soap operas.

Surviving are her husband, Cliff; three children, Cheryl (Clay) Cushman of Fayetteville, Georgia, Jeffrey (Toni) Wood of Southgate and Craig Wood of Fayetteville, Georgia; five grandchildren, Dustin (Whitney) Wood of Southgate, Katie Wood (fianc+¬, Eric Bare) of Madison Heights, Mead Cushman of Fayetteville, Georgia, Steven Wood of Kalamazoo and his mother, Jennifer Wood, and Preston Wood of Southgate; three brothers, Carlton (Joann) Mead, Jr., Larry (Ann) Mead and Lauren (Rita) Mead all of Roscommon; and brother-in-law, James Wood of Greentree City, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Nov. 5, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Roscommon with Fr. Lawrence Sergott officiating. Burial will be at Roscommon Village Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements were handled by Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon.
