HIGGINS LAKE – The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) recently provided a $2,500.00 grant to the Higgins Lake Foundation (HLF) to assist with operating costs of the DASH boat. Grant funding was provided by the John Morley Family Endowment for Higgins Lake Fund.
The DASH boat is used to control and remove Eurasian Water Milfoil from Higgins Lake. The suction harvest method used by the boat is the most efficient system known to date. Funding provided by RCCF assisted with expenses such as fuel, maintenance, repairs, storage, and winterizing.
