Family Fare supports Firemen’ Festival

ROSCOMMON – Family Night for the Michigan Firemen’ Memorial Festival is today (September 15) from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Fire Training Grounds in Roscommon.

Family Fare of Roscommon generously supports this event by providing hotdogs, chips, pop and all the fixings to make this event their largest community donation.

This is the 10th year of Family Night, historically bringing around 1,400 kids and families to the festival that evening. With this partnership, the event is free of charge which includes dinner, a magic show, kid’ activities and even an early opportunity to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus. Coordinating the event is Bill Luck Director of the Family Fare of Roscommon and Sue Jock the Michigan Firemen’ Memorial Festival Family Night.

The 37th Annual Firemen’ Memorial Festival runs through Sept. 18 with most activities happening at the Fire Training Grounds.

In addition to all the activities at the Fire Training Grounds, there will be a Bright Light Vehicle showdown 7 p.m. Friday night, with the Light Parade through Roscommon starting at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.).

On Saturday at 9 a.m., The Michigan State Firemen’ Association pays tribute to all fire fighters, conducting a Memorial Service and placing wreaths at the Firemen’ Memorial statue located at 1295 E Robinson Lake Road, Roscommon. Another parade takes place Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
