Youth build, donate benches

ROSCOMMON COUNTY – This year, the Roscommon County 4-H Palooza youth, under supervision, decided they wanted to try and build, not one, but two benches. And build they did!

All ideas, research, plans, materials shopping and building, with the exception of cutting with power tools, were completed by the Roscommon County 4-H Palooza youth: Logan Linne Hasting, Nate Persing, Tommy Sherrill and Henry Tussey. Ed Nordquist volunteered his time and power tools, Deb Romancky and Phyllis Padolsky, our 4-H staff, oversaw the project, along with Nancy Persing, Roscommon County 4-H Coordinator.

The idea really came full circle when the youth decided to donate both benches to the Roscommon County Building. Commissioner Schneider, Chairman, is accepted the youths’ donation on behalf of the county.

Creativity, learning skills and giving back to their community. Now that’ what the 4-H spirit builds!
