Donna Jean Willhite of St. Helen

Donna Jean Willhite, age 83, passed away August 15, 2016 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. She resided in St. Helen for the past 16 years, formerly of Berkley.

She was born to Clarence and Lottie (Harrington) Rottmann in Base Line on October 16, 1932. She loved to spend time in her husband’ garage, known as ‘Pops Garage’. She loved working with him on cars, dune buggies, and playing Bingo. She hardly missed her days.

Mrs. Willhite helped anyone that needed it and never batted an eye doing it. She always was helping her family, neighbors, and friends.

Surviving are her children, Mary Welemirov of Madison Heights and David (Mareva) Willhite of St. Helen; grandchildren, Chris, Danny, and DeAnna; great-grandson, Myles; daughter-law: Sandy Willhite of Royal Oak; and siblings, Ida Detzler, Ronald (Beverly) Rottmann, and Charles (Marion) Rottmann.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald ‘Pops’, and son, Mike.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen is August 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service is August 22at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate. Burial will be at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak on August 23, at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family.
