ROSCOMMON–Professional Chef Michelle Bommarito of The Food Network visited the Roscommon Area District Library (RADL) recently. She gave two presentations on eating healthy.
At the morning presentation, she taught, and made, ‘Healthy Snacks for Kids’. The story hour participants and parents watched and sampled a healthy version of chicken nuggets.
In the afternoon, Bommarito showed the teens knife skills, from the names of the different knives, what they are used for, and how to hold them correctly. Using a rainbow colored collection of fresh fruits and vegetables, she demonstrated how to cut such items as avocado, purple carrots, kiwi and pineapple.
RADL was able to bring Bommarito to the library with help from the Roscommon County Community Foundation’ grant.
