Basil Jefferson Moore

Basil Jefferson Moore, 81, of Roscommon passed away March 29, 2018 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.

Mr. Moore was born June 10, 1936 in Port Huron to Brooks and Ardith (Moran) Moore. He married Patricia E. Behr Nov. 19, 1955 in Port Huron.

He owned and operated Basil’ Mobile Home Service in Port Huron. In Roscommon, he worked as a mechanic for Bob Jansen. He was a builder for Tom DeWitt, Dan Costello, Bryan Costello and also drove for Don Nester Chevrolet.

Mr. Moore enjoyed working in the garden and making wood statues and ornaments.

Surviving are his wife Pat; three sons, Eugene (Jackie) Moore of Roscommon, Kenneth (Ethel) Moore of Port Huron and Dwaine Moore of Roscommon; six grandchildren, Patricia, Tyler, Theresa, Jeremy (Lori), Tonya and Beth (Chris); four great-grandchildren, Devin, Zachary, Kalie and Meagan; three sisters, Brooksine May of Battle Creek, Jane (Don) Williams of Florida and Joan (Charles) Deland of Port Huron; sister-in-law, Joann Moore of Port Huron; and very special friends, Dave and Cyndy O’Dell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, William Joseph Moore and Bradley Richard Moore; and four brothers, Archie, George, John and Dwight Moore.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial was at Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’ Children’ Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon is serving the family.
