Joan Patricia Kerry

Joan Patricia Kerry (Samolin), 86, passed away Nov. 3, 2017 at home with her daughter and son at her side.

She was the oldest of the four children born to Edward J. and MaryEllen (Corcoran) Samolin on February 14, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan.

She resided previously in Detroit, Saginaw and Flint.

She was affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, VFW Post #4034, member of the Houghton Lake Eagles #3201 and retired from Amerigas.

She is survived by daughter Lynn (Larry) Boult of San Antonio, TX, son Robert ‘Bobby’ Havrilla of Houghton Lake, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, son-in-law Francis (Deborah) Ford, many good friends and neighbors, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by daughter Vicky Marie (Loesel) Ford; husband Joe A. Kerry; two sisters and Helene (Mike) Lambert and Diane (John) Chase; brother Edward Lawrence Samolin-Zuellig; her parents; and step-father Perl E. Zuellig.

A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for the care they have shown.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. She will be buried at Roscommon Township Cemetery.
