Myron Holuk of Houghton Lake

Myron Holuk, 93, of Houghton Lake passed away August 26, 2017 at The Brook of Houghton Lake with his loving family by his side.

Myron was born on November 3, 1923 in Cass City to Michael and Mary Holyk. He grew up in the Detroit area on a family farm. He served as a CPL in the Army Air Corp working on gyroscope radar units during World War II.

On May 14, 1945 in Madison, Wisconsin, Myron was married  to Antoinette  B. Pierzchala. The couple moved to Houghton Lake from Redford Township in 1979.

He was employed as a milling machine operator by Ex-Cello Corp in Highland Park from which he retired. Myron was a member of Houghton Lake Eagles and the Houghton Lake Moose.

Surviving are his three daughters, Sharon Neely of PA, Diane (Richard) Mauck of Prudenville, and Donna Compeau of Southgate; four grandchildren, Todd (Jen) Neely, Lance (Becky) Neely, Rich (Mindy) Mauck, and Kirk (Lisa) Mauck; four great grandchildren, Alexa Neely, Brynn Neely, Ahnicka Neely, and Molly Mauck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Antoinette B. Holuk; sister, Tillie Estrada; and brother, John Holuk.

Funeral services will take place at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel today (Aug. 30) at 11 am with Father Bernard Tyler officiating.

Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake.

Memorial contributions in memory of Myron are asked to be directed to the American Cancer Society.
