Marlene Rose Greene

Marlene Rose Green, 69, of Higgins Lake, passed away Dec. 29, 2016 at University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor.

Marlene was born in Saginaw on Feb. 18, 1947 to Charles Ray and Beulah Marie (Wyman) Kelsey. She married George J. Greene July 10, 1965 in Saginaw.

She resided in Higgins Lake for 16 years, coming from Dexter.

Marlene was a member of the Hi-Ho Quilt Club, the Red Hat Society and Gardening Club of Roscommon. She was employed by the University of Michigan for many years, retiring as an administrative assistant.

Surviving are three daughters, Michelle Greene of Orange Park, FL, Karen Sampson of Pinckney, and Kathy (David) Weigel of Grass Lake; five grandchildren, Tera and Haley McCarthy, Tyler and Logan Sampson and Megan Weigel; three brothers, Mike (Pat) Kelsey of Bridgeport, Reggie (Pat) Kelsey of Birch Run and Doug (Debbie) Kelsey of Midland; sister, Barbara Graham of Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, George J. Greene on Sept. 21, 2016.

Funeral services were held at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 with Dr. David E. Hansen officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Higgins Lake.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’ Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101
