Brenda Jean Fifield, 71

Brenda Jean Fifield, 71, of Houghton Lake passed away August 23, 2016 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Midland.

She was born on March 6, 1945 in Houghton Lake to Everett and Beatrice (Howe) Fifield. She graduated from Houghton Lake High School and later went on to get her LPN Degree from Iowa and later her RN Degree from Texas. She moved back to Houghton Lake four years ago from Texas.

Ms. Fifield attended the Houghton Lake United Methodist Church, and enjoyed flowers and gardening, crossword puzzles and playing BINGO at the Senior Center.

Surviving are her son Joe DeJong of Houghton Lake; four grandchildren; brother, Roger (Julie) Fifield of California; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lainey Fifield-DeJong-Ortega; sister Delphine Peterson and brother Corian Fifield.

Per Brenda’ wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a private celebration of life service.
