MSP investigating bus accident

News Release: Saturday, March 31, 2018

LYON TWP. – At this time the Michigan State Police Houghton Lake Post is investigating a traffic crash on north bound US-127 near mile marker 204, which is Lyon Township of Roscommon County. The traffic crash involves a privately owned tour bus, which was occupied by approximately 40 individuals.

Troopers on scene are reporting that there are three subjects with serious injuries that are not considered life threatening at this time. MSP Houghton Lake is being assisted by MSP Gaylord, the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office, fire and EMS units from Lyon, Lake, Gerrish, Denton Townships, as well as Houghton Lake EMS and MMR.

Currently Troopers have closed the north bound lanes of US-127 at this location. Troopers are rerouting traffic onto Old 27 at mile marker 201, then north to North Higgins Lake Road where traffic will re-enter US-127 north.
