Insurance exchange open enrollment begins November 1

GAYLORD – Do you need affordable health insurance? November 1st marks the beginning of the new open enrollment period on the insurance exchange.

Sign up for insurance and determine your eligibility for subsidies on the Health Insurance Marketplace (www.healthcare.gov) by December 15th, 2017 in order to avoid penalties. This is the only open enrollment period for the year, and changes or additions cannot be made outside of the open enrollment period, except for qualifying life events (such as marriage or a new baby).

Otsego Memorial Hospital understands this can be a big and overwhelming process and is here to assist you. Candace Marcotte, OMH Patient Access Supervisor, can help walk you through the sign up process and answer questions over the phone or in person.

Individuals can also sign up throughout the year for the Healthy Michigan Plan, which is the expanded Medicaid program for adults ages 19-64 who have no other form of Health Insurance and are below 133% of the US Poverty level. With the Healthy Michigan Plan, a family of four making an annual income of $33,534 would qualify.

Don’t miss your opportunity to sign up for affordable healthcare or to determine whether you qualify for expanded Medicaid. To schedule an appointment with Candace Marcotte, OMH Patient Access Supervisor, please contact 989-731-9542.
