DNR receives RCCF grant

ROSCOMMON–The Roscommon County Community Foundation (RCCF) is pleased to announce the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR)/ North Higgins Lake State Park was the recipient of a $2,500.00 grant. The funding for this project comes from one of the donor-advised funds of RCCF.

With the funds granted for this project The Historic Higgins Lake Nursery and the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) Museum were able to complete some major repairs. Funding helped purchase paint, siding, and roofing materials.

This year, the Michigan Cares for Tourism group, selected the Ralph A. MacMullan (RAM) Center and the Historic Higgins Lake/CCC Museum as their location to have more than 150 volunteers come and preform jobs at the historic site.

Joshua Pellow, Parks and Recreation Manager said, ‘The grant opportunity will benefit all visitors to the Higgins Lake area, as well as North Higgins Lake State Park.’
