St. Ignace car show draws thousands

ST. IGNACE – The weather was hot butbthe cars hotter at the 43rd Annual St. Ignace Car Show June 28-30.

According to saintignace.org/event/st-ignace-car-show-weekend, the event is one of the largest all-make, all-model shows in the country.

The event started with a cruise on Thursday, launching from Kewadin Casino, and ending at Little Bear East Arena for music and awards.

The event wrapped up Saturday with hundreds of vehicles on display, vendors, music, and fireworks at dusk.

Car Enthusiast Brian Gilmore of Gaylord said the event was awesome. He was able to spend the entire day at the show and still made it home in time for the Otsego Lake Fireworks in Gaylord.

“It was hot out (heat indexes exceeded 100 degrees Fahrenheit) but it didn’t matter,” Gilmore said. “It’s a great show and it’s just nice to walk around and watch the people and the cars.

“We will be going back next year for sure. But hopefully it’s a little cooler.”
