Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of the Lakes matches enjoyed getting together to celebrate the Chinese New Year on Feb 13 at St. John Lutheran Church. The Big and Littles enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year customs and ate some traditional Chinese New Year foods. They learned a Chinese song and how to do a Chinese Ribbon Dance, Chinese Lantern Dance and a Chinese Fan Dance. Matches also had a fun time making paper lanterns, seeing a demonstration of some Chinese instruments and how to play them. The BBBS would like to thank Joyce Nutzmann for demonstrating how to play the Ching-chok, Chinese Bell Tree, and Kokoriko and teaching us about these Chinese New Year customs. BBBS Littles also received a traditional Chinese New Year gift of a red envelope from the BBBS caseworker.

BBBS Little Haley receiving extra instruction from Joyce Nutzmann for the Chinese Lantern Dance.
