Roscommon County Undersheriff Ben Lowe recently spoke to the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake regarding Operation Present Patrol. The project, operated by the Roscommon County Sheriff Department with assistance from Walmart, provides turkeys and gift cards instead of citations for randomly selected traffic violations. Over $3,000 was raised last year and the goal is to do the same this year. The Rotary Club of Houghton Lake presented the Sheriff Department a $1,000 donation in support of the project.
